Day 150 of 2017

Today I was able to help my daughter who was throwing up. I do not handle throw up well. It usually makes me sick. Today the Lord helped me handle the situation well and she is resting comfortably now. She is still sick but at least she is doing better. I am grateful for help on High when parenting gets messy.

Today I got further on a project I was working on. I am making two kids books for my family and I feel that the Lord has inspired me on what topics and what to put down. It has been fun writing them and so far my kids have enjoyed them. I still need to illustrate them. I know I can rely on the Lord to guide me there, too.

We had a wonderful sacrament meeting with wonderful talks. I know the Lord helped me to make it there on time so I could enjoy the talks. The Spirit spoke to me and gave me comfort on some things and helped me to know that it is okay to be where I am and that He is pleased with how far I have come.

Today my niece came to visit. It is always nice to have her here. I am grateful that the Lord has given me this opportunity to be in her life and to be a safe place for her. She is such a cute girl and always welcome to come visit her '2nd mom,' as she calls me.

Today I had some hard news about a family member. I am so grateful for the gift of the Holy Ghost to comfort me and help me know what to do and say. I don't know where I would be or how my life would be without the help of the Spirit. I am so very grateful I have it as a constant companion.

I was able to listen to the Spirit and let my daughter finish telling a little story she made up before I jumped to conclusions. She had made up a little story to help her be less afraid of ghosts so the beginning of the story was a little strange but the end had a sweet message and I would have broken her heart if I had interrupted her. I know me, I would have interrupted. The Spirit spoke to me and I didn't and I am so grateful. The Lord knows the tender feelings of my daughter and wanted her to feel good about her story. I know the Lord loves my children very much and looks out for them.

Today I was able to read my scriptures. It was a hard fight. Every time I open a book all my children come talk to me. They have radar, I swear. I was able to get them distracted so I could read and get my spiritual enlightenment for the day. I love the scriptures and am grateful for all who sacrificed to make them available.

Today I was able to be put on another antibiotic. I am so grateful for modern medicine and how we have more than one option. It used to be if the antibiotics didn't work than you were out of luck because there were few options. We have so many now. I am very hopeful that my illness will be fixed by this one. The Lord has blessed us with so much in this day and age and I am happy to reap the benefits.

I was having a bad day and my in-laws bought me French fries. They are my favorite and it did help my mood. I am grateful for the small tender mercies the Lord sends our way to help bring a smile to our faces.

Today I was able to go to church and a family party even though I am in a lot of pain. I was given a blessing this morning saying I would be able to perform my duties. I was able to do that and it was a miracle. Today was a rough day in the nursery. Being a nursery worker is not for the weak. I am so grateful for the miracle.

Today I was able to let our butterflies go that we have taken care of from caterpillars. This was so much fun. As these little delicate creatures were climbing onto my finger so I could let them out of their mesh habitat that has been home for a few days I just got a sweet feeling of love for these creatures. I am so grateful for all of God's creations and that He trusted me to take part in caring for these beautiful betterflies and letting my children love them and watch them grow. It has been a great experience.

I was able to get a lot of research done for my Memorial Day project. I know I am being inspired as to what to put in this book and where to go to look. I know that our loved ones still take an interest in our lives and they appreciate it when we take an interest in their lives too. Knowing who and where you came from, it links us all together.

Today I was able to get a lot done in a scrapbook I am making for Memorial Day. I have never really liked going to graves since I was a kid and I figured out why. I had no idea who the people were. They were related to me and I could see their name etched in marble but I didn't know them. I want my kids to know their ancestors. I am compiling a book with information and a photo, if available, so they can see and hear about them. It is a lot of work. I know the Lord is helping me and prompting me as to what to put in it and where to find info. I am so grateful for this idea He gave me and all I could accomplish today toward having it ready in a week and a half.

I got my daughter caught up in school. Home schooling a kindergartner when your body gives out on you for weeks at a time is hard. We got her all caught up and ready to graduate without a problem. She knows her stuff and will be great in first grade. I am so grateful that the Lord has been with us and she has still been learning and growing although we haven't had formal lessons for a few weeks.

RJ and I needed to go to some interviews and we got there early. I am so grateful that the Lord prompted us to go early. The room filled fast and we would have been there a long time. I didn't have the energy for that. I am so grateful we got through and out fast.

Today I was able to get more antibiotics so I can get rid of my infection. I am so grateful for modern medicine. Also, I am grateful that when the doctors office called to check on me the Lord prompted me to ask about my remaining symptoms and see if that meant I needed more medicine. By the time the doctor called back I already knew becasue of how my body felt that I was not 💯 yet. I would not have asked and gotten more medicine today if the Spirit had not whispered to me.

Today I was spoiled by my husband. I have not had to do anything. He took care of the kids and dinner. The Lord blessed me with the most wonderful man and I could not ask for better. I am very blessed that he listened to the Lord when He nudged him my way.

I am grateful that we arrived home safely from camping. The Lord blessed us with a good camping trip and a safe ride home. I am grateful for all the fun we had this weekend.

I love that RJ has vacation leave. We are so blessed that he was able to take the day off and stay with us up camping. We get to spend time with him and he gets paid. What a deal! I am so grateful the Lord lead RJ to the job he has. It has turned out perfect for our family.

Today I went with my children fishing. This can be very dangerous. One of my daughters, with her Barbie fishing pole, was not looking and she hooked my backend. This was a spinner hook with a large three point hook. Two of those hooks imbedded themselves into my pants so well that pliers were needed to remove them. I was not harmed at all. I know the Lord was with me on that one. It should have ripped into my skin and my pants should have had a huge whole. Not a scratch on me and my pants were not ruined.  I was saved and my pants. I am very grateful for the Lord's assistance so I could continue to enjoy the trip.

Today our youngest made a two and a half our car ride without an accident. I was so grateful for this as my day was a mess and I was dreading having to change her and her car seat. I know the Lord knew I had reached my limit for the day and was helping my sanity. Potty training has not gone well and this was such a huge relief for me. The Lord is ever present in our lives. I love it.

Today we had our last meeting for our financial group. It was really good. I am going to miss seeing everyone every week. The Lord blessed us with a wonderful group. He also blessed us with His spirit tonight and I could feel that we were all a little better than when we started weeks ago. It has been a great experience.

I was able to get all my responsibilities taken care of. With how sick I have been I am so grateful everyday for the strength the Lord has given me so I can get everything done. He has been with me through all of this and given me all I needed when I needed it, whether it be energy or a helping hand. I am so grateful.

I was able to get a project done I wanted to for Mother's Day. This is a huge load off my mind and I am so very grateful the Lord made a way for me to get it done with minimal stress and minimal fuss. It turned out wonderful and I am very happy it is done. I know that mothers are important to the Lord so I know I had Help.

I was able to go and take a treat to my cousin who is not feeling well. He has had a death in his family and I wanted him to know we were thinking of him. I am grateful the Lord gave me the energy to accomplish this becasue I have been so tired lately. I was able to do it and give it to him and we both felt better. I know the Lord helped it to happen.

Today I was able get some of the things cleaned that were driving me crazy. The Lord blessed me with enough energy to help calm my mind by getting some things in order. I am so grateful for that.

Every year the special needs group my brother is in puts on a play. Every year it is chaos every practice. You would never think it would work out at all. Then a miracle happens. It happened again this year. Day one of performing and everything went wonderful. The Lord truly loves these special spirits and makes everything work out for them. I love being a part of it and it strengthens my testimony of God's love every time.

Today I was able to make it through all I needed to do. I am sick, again. It is so hard to take care of things when all you want I do is blow your nose and sleep but I got it done. I am grateful the Lord kept my eye on what I needed to do and helped me through it.

I was able to facilitate one of the self reliance meetings me and my husband are in charge of all by myself. This is big for me. I am not good at doing things like that on my own because of my social anxiety but I did it and it went well. I know that the Lord was with me and helping me.

Today I was led by the Spirit to help my brother-in-law, who was having a difficult day. I am grateful for the prompting I received. I know it helped. I am very happy when I am able to serve someone. It always amazes me that the Lord trusts us enough to handle His work for Him. It helps me to know that I am important and that I am needed.
