Day 120 of 2014

Today I was blessed again by a blessing given weeks ago. Proof that when you get a blessing from the Lord it continues. I was blessed with peace. Today I was confronted with a new piece of drama and in the past would have hit the roof. I was calm and I think handled it the best of anyone. I know it is because of a promise of peace and strength I received at the beginning of the month. The Lord's love is awesome and His blessing are sure as long as you are obedient and have faith.

Being able to do housework again is a good thing. I am not back to being 100% but I could at least do my duties, even with a head cold coming on. After being down for over a week with chest pain (a pulled muscle) I can do things without pain. I am glad the Lord has helped me heal.

Bedtime. Tonight it could not come fast enough! I am grateful the Lord blessed me with children but some days I am grateful when they are all asleep. So I am grateful they all went to bed and fell asleep quickly tonight.

Today I got to listen to my in laws love story. It was very sweet. You ask, what does that have to do with God's hand in your life today? Very simple. From their story you can see that the Lord took an active part in their courtship and marriage. If He had not done that I would not be married to the wonderful man I have today. So win win for all involved.

You know that feeling when you love someone so much you feel your heart is going to burst? I believe that is a gift from God. He blesses you with the knowledge and strength of the love you have for that person. Being able to love deeply is a wonderful gift and many have it. I have been blessed with it. While I was watching a play with my husband today I got that feeling and just enjoyed it. I am so blessed to be with the great man I am and I am blessed with that ability to feel. I thank The Lord for it and would not trade it.

Day 115 of 2014

Tonight I went to a production that is put on by the special needs mutual every year. The play has a different theme every year but the spirit and fun is the same. I have been going for many years and would not miss it. For years I went to see a friend. Then my brother was in it a few years and I volunteered and was in it with him. The past two years I have gone for my sister-in-law. These sweet spirits who dwell among us are proof of God's love for us. He sends such pure sweet spirits to show us love and to show us how easy it is to forgive and to show us what is like to really be like a little child so that we might inherit in His Kingdom. The Lord poured His spirit out to these kids and blessed their performance so that they in turn could touch us and bless our lives. I am so grateful for the performance tonight and for His help to make it a success.

Today I am still recovering from a sprained muscle. My mother has been my angel today. She has done my chores and taken care of my kids. She has picked up heavy stuff and let me fall asleep twice while she attended to my children. I am so grateful the Lord gave me such a great mother. She is proof that God loves me.

Day 113 of 2014

God's hand in my life today is, again, my family. I had to go into the hospital for something and my in laws watched my kids and my husband took me while my mom took care of my other responsibilities and then took care of me and my children while my husband ran all the errands. My husband through all of this was very gentle and caring, as he always is. I have been blessed with a great support system and I would be lost without them. I am so grateful for the Lord knowing my weaknesses and giving me a great family to fill the gaps.

Tonight my oldest came to me wayyyyy after she was supposed to be in bed and started trying to sell me some line about not going to school tomorrow. Instead of sending her straight back to bed the Spirit told me to talk to her and find out why she was there. Half an hour later I sent her back to bed after her and I discussed some problems she was having at school that she had not told me about, nothing major in the grand scheme of things but big to her. I am glad that I listened before I lectured and that I could help her with some of her fears. The Lord did not shout at me so I am glad I was in a listening mood. I hope I can be attune more often that I may be useful to Him by helping His children.

Again, I am so grateful for modern medicine. The Lord has blessed us with skilled doctors and medicine makers and the technology to do wonders. God's hand in my life today is a lot of eye drops. With 3 cases of pink eye in the house and probably more to come I am grateful for these so that my children and husband can be comfortable and not have eyes that seal shut.

Day 110 of 2014

Today we celebrated the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I love the #because of Him that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints did. The video is excellent and I like the pictures. I stand amazed everyday at the love and sacrifice of my Savior for me and you that He gave His life (not just physically at His death but His life was dedicated to learning and teaching) that we might live again, that we might join our Heavenly Parents and Him in heaven again. I know He lives. I know He died for all of us. I know the ONLY way back to our Father is through Him. I know He loves us and will continue to. I know that if I live according to the covenants I have made that I will be saved in the Kingdom of God, never to go out again. I know you have the same opportunity. The Savior's atonement is God's Hand in my life everyday.

Today we had a great day as a family. We shared many activities and had a lot of laughs and fun together. I know that this would not have been possible without the Lord's help in making our day go smoothly and also I know that if I did not have His teachings to live by we would not be as happy. I am grateful for the loving family the Lord has given me.

I love it when you get a light bulb of inspiration. I have been pondering how to teach a principle in my Sunday school lesson and it came to me as I was doing something else off the subject. The Lord grants you what you need sometimes when you least expect it so be sure you are listening!

Today I was able to watch my oldest do a school program. In this program she was very concentrated and did her best work. This is special to me as I can see the blessing she received from her dad coming true in her life that she need not get medicinal help with her ADHD if she read the Book of Mormon. She has kept at it even if she reads only a verse or two a day but the difference in her concentration and being able to keep still is amazing. "I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say;" (D&C 82:10). I am seeing this in the life of my daughter and she is seeing it as well. The Lord teaches principles and will give promises even to the young.

Today I had something I was promised in a blessing come to pass. Okay, not totally true. Today I realized that something that was in a blessing had come to pass. The spirit whispered to me that something I had been waiting for had happened and that I had felt the spirit at that time but not realized it was the witness I was waiting for. I think it is very exciting when the spirit speaks to you. The Lord knows what you need and supplies it when you need it.

Today I got to read my grandmothers patriarchal blessing. It was great. It let me see her faith and her potential and our Fathers love for her. I really enjoyed it. I am grateful the Lord gave me the opportunity to read it and see one of His daughters through His eyes.

Getting my run in today was almost impossible and getting the house clean was also not easy as the sink decided not to drain in the middle of doing a lot of dishes. But.... The Lord was with me and I got both done. I made it through my whole run and got all the dishes done, kitchen cleaned and dinner made. Our household had been under some major stress so this feat is one I praise the Lord for.

Today it the birthday of my mother in law. She is a very special lady and has been a sweet influence in my life. She can speak such kind words and has gone out of her way many times to help someone in need when she already has plenty on her plate. She has a very sensitive spirit and loves her family. I am so very grateful for a mother in law I know loves me and treats me as she would her own daughter. Not everyone is blessed with that in their lives. The Lord has put this beautiful woman in my life and I am happy to celebrate her birth today.

Today I am grateful for a daughter who cares. My oldest was so concerned for my husband, who is sick, that she stayed with him during lunch. I am grateful the Lord has given me a very sweet spirit to be our oldest. The Lord shows me His love through her a lot. Today was RJs day to experience it but it was a very sweet moment for me to watch.

Life's adventures are interesting and it seems that when sickness hits a home it likes to stay awhile. We have over half our household down with some sort of sickness. I am grateful that in times like this the Lord always is with me to give me the energy and patience I need to help everyone. He also has given us the priesthood that we might call upon the powers of heaven to strengthen those who are sick and to help them heal. Even when life gets interesting, it is still a great adventure when you have the Lord as a travel companion.

Day 100 of 2014

Wow, 100 days into the year all ready!
One thing I love about The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter Day Saints is that it is very organized. With that organization is training for the callings in the church. I love training meetings. I love to get together with others who have been called to do the same job as me and talk and discuss how to be better. I love to hear teachings from our leaders. It is a very good experience. We had an auxiliary training meeting tonight and the spirit was very strong and  my testimony was strengthened about the work we have to do. Our leader was amazing (I could be biased as it was RJ) and he brought up something wonderful. The Lord's work and glory "is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." (Moses 1:39) That means He is in the business of making Gods and Godess'. He wants us to have His life. He has also asked us to help in this work. So what is our work? To help make Gods and Godess' of those we teach. How cool is that? Who could have a cooler job than making Gods and Godess' We are helping each other to grow and reach our true potential, to share everything with God and inherit in His Kingdom. That puts it in perspective. I am grateful today that the Lord organized His church to have meetings where we can learn and feel of His spirit.

Today was beautiful outside! The temperature was perfect, the flowers are blooming, there was a slight breeze every now and again....it was lovely. The Lord has given us such a wonderful array of colors and smells to wake up our senses. I know He is there and I know He loves me because He has given me such a fabulous world to enjoy.

I know I blog on this a lot but I think it deserves a lot of attention- Priesthood power and blessings. I got a blessing today to ask the Lord to comfort my heart for something that happened years ago. It was amazing. I am so grateful for a loving Father who takes interest in His children's lives and who participates in them. I am grateful for His trust in His sons to give them a portion of His power that they might bless the lives of their family and friends if they stay true to their covenants. I am grateful for a loving, worthy husband who will give me a blessing anytime I need one and who is prepared and ready for such an ordinance all the time. There is a God in Israel and He loves His children.

Grateful today for that still small voice that tells me when something is serious when my child does NOT want to tell me. Like when they don't want to go to the doctor because it will take away their time from playing Zelda Twilight Princess ( totally makes him my child I know) and they don't want a shot. The Lord let me know to pay attention to him holding his ear and grimacing. I am grateful the doctor could work us in because he has a massive ear infection and would have been miserable tonight. With meds in his body he should sleep fine. The Lord is always there when we make a place in our lives and our home for Him.

There is a prophet in Israel! Conference again was amazing and I learned so much through the spirit. I honestly am sad it is over. I am very grateful we will have access to all the talks in a few short days to read and re-read. There was so much the Lord gave us to apply and absorb. Love one another, live your faith, stand up for your beliefs courageously and courteously, be grateful in your life-all your life, treasure up things in Heaven, Joseph was a true prophet and Christ is REAL and ALIVE and loves us. I am so so grateful for the technology to listen, watch and read the words of modern, living prophets every 6 months. God is Great and He loves YOU!

Day 95 of 2014

I love General Conference! Twice a year The Church of Jesus Christ of Letter Day Saints gets all the leaders together to give us counsel from the Lord. We get to here from living prophets and apostles. I love it! Today was no different. The talks were all great and inspired. They all make me want to stand a little taller and do a little better but always knowing there is hope and that God loves me. I sustain and love the brethren with all my heart. I know their words come from the Lord. I had many thoughts and insights today that I know was the Lord speaking directly to me through His prophets. I am so excited for it to continue tomorrow.

One year ago today I got a most precious gift from my Father. She was not expected at all and was a very big surprise. She has been a light and a joy to our family since the moment she came into this world. I know she was supposed to come to our family and that the timing was perfect. I know my plan was different but I am so grateful the Lord did not listen to me. Today we celebrated her and the gift she is. I am grateful we got to celebrate with her, as not all get to keep their babies long on the earth. I am very blessed to have been able to keep all of mine.

The Lord answered my prayer today in everything that I asked for. My will must have matched with His today. I prayed that a potentially volatile and messy situation would go the best possible for someone I love and that I would be able to keep my mouth shut when needed but have it filled with His words and good things when called on to speak. Everything went as best as it could under the circumstances and I did not get in any confrontations. It was good. I am very grateful for prayer and that we always have a Father to go to and to ask for help. I know He listens.

Day 92 of 2014

This post has the potential to be very long as I was blessed with much and saw the Lord's hand many times today. I will try to keep it brief. First, today is the birthday's of my boys. My son was my husbands birthday present 6 years ago. I cannot even describe the love I have for these two or the joy and blessings they bring to my life. Celebrating with them today reminded me of how blessed I am as a mother and a wife. Thirty years ago the Lord gave the world a gift. I get to wake up next to that gift every morning and I get to kiss him goodnight every evening. The Lord gave RJ and I a gift 6 years ago that has brought our little world so much love.
Another blessing, our 3 year old with the smashed finger got into the doctor in the morning and RJ was able to take her and the doctor was able to fix her finger all with little fuss. Lots of crying but she was very brave. To have modern medicine, RJ get off work, get into said doctor with a very busy schedule and to have her be so brave all were the Lord's work. So my day was full of blessings great and small.

"Sometimes I open my mouth and my mother comes out." This saying always makes me smile and I said it today after I had just gotten after my 6 year old for something. I opened my mouth and said a phrase I know my mom used with me and my brothers. I almost stopped and laughed but it would not have helped my lecture. It made me realize though, I have a great mom. She taught me so much and is the main reason I am a mother. She made me want to be a stay at home mom. She helped me to see how rewarding it can be. She taught me the gospel by living it and she taught me selflessness, also by example. She really is a great woman and I am proud to be like her. The Lord knew what I would need and that I would need a good example of love. He reminded me of that today. He gave me an angel. I just call her mom.
