I am very grateful for everything the Lord has given me. He reminded me today that everything I have is on borrow from Him and if He asks me to give it away that is what I should do. I have so much that it is very selfish of me not to share. I love the little reminders I get.

Day 89 of 2015

I am gratful that I felt well enough today to run. If you have followed my blog since the beginning you know that I love running. I am not a compitition runner and I am not a size 4 runner. I run because it makes me happy. It makes me feel good. I have been sick a lot lately and I finally had the motivation and energy to get on the treadmill. It felt wonderful. I am so grateful to the Lord for the blessing of a working body and for feeling better.

We had a party today for half our family. Three members have a birthday this week. We had all our family over and I am so grateful for their support. The Lord has blessed us with a lot of kind, loving, supportive family members. I am so grateful to all of them and for the blessing of family.

Today was another wonderful General Women's Conference for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so grateful to the Lord for making such conferences possible and for directing the topics of the talks so that they are so wonderful. I am grateful that I was able to go with my mother and oldest daughter. We had a great time and I hope we are making memories that my daughter will cherish.

Day 86 of 2015

Today I am very grateful for good neighbors. The Lord placed us next to two great families. We work well together and are on good terms. The Lord placed us where we needed to be. We had one of our neighbors come to us with a problem and he could have been mean about it but we talked it over in a friendly manner and hopefully we can find a solution for him. I am grateful he came to us first instead of making it into something bigger. The Lord knows where we will be happiest and He places us there if we listen.

Day 85 of 2015

I am grateful to be me. As I have tried to be closer to the Spirit and have tried to listen better and obey the promptings I feel I have noticed a common theme with the Lord. He says it to His people who are trying to be good all through out the ages. 'You are okay. You are good enough. You keep trying your best and, by golly, you will make it.' I have felt that strongly for days now. As I let the Lord work more closely in my life I am more open to His encouragement. I am not constantly bashing myself and telling myself how unworthy I am of the Lord's blessing. I keep hearing in my head the humanitarian from the movie Meet the Mormons.  He says, "I am no where near the perfect but I am perfect in one thing, I am perfect in the trying." I join with him in saying that I am not perfect but I am trying and the Lord has accepted that.

I am grateful for my family. The Lord blessed me with a wonderful one who takes care of me when I am not feeling well. I am so very grateful for that.

The Lord blesses me everyday with my husband. RJ is so wonderful to me. I know that the Lord sent RJ to me and that we were meant to be together. The care and concern we both show for each other amazes me and I know it is because we put God first. By putting Him first He lets us see a glimpse of our potential as a couple and our love and compassion grows. I am so grateful the Lord plays an active hand in our relationship and that he brought us together. My heart is full today for my RJ.

Today I had a great conversation with a friend and I felt the Spirit very strong as we talked about life and things in it. I am so grateful I have the contant companionship of the Holy Ghost so that I can be given things to say that keeps the Spirit in the room. I love that feeling and sharing it with others.

I am grateful for today because I celebrate the birthday of a wonderful friend the Lord sent to me. Today I was able to be with my brother and his family. He has been a good friend to me for most of my life. Now that we are older and have families of our own it has been nice to be good friends and enjoy one another's company. When I was younger we fought like mad but I am grateful to the Lord for the great friend He blessed me with.

I've had a very specific worry for quite a while that had caused me to feel crazy and alone.  Today I had a sweet experience in which I was reminded that I'm not alone and He let me know that I'm not crazy.  I'm grateful for a God that finds the perfect time to answer a question when it will make the greatest impact in our lives.

I am so grateful for the scriptures in my life. I love to read them and ponder them and to just get lost in the feeling of love the comes from them. The Lord saved them for us. He perserved the scriptures that we might have His word and feel His love in these trying times. I am very happy that I have my own copy and I can turn to them always. Just holding them in my hands today made me feel peace. Very grateful.

Today I am very grateful for my doctors office having late hours. A few nights a month they have late hours so people who have to work and can't get off to go see the doctor during the day can do it after work. My oldest came home from school not feeling well with some swelling on her throat. We were able to make her an appointment and get her in just 3 hours after school. Her strep infection had not fully gone away and is coming back. Now we have new, stronger meds and hopefully she will be back to 100% soon. I am grateful the Lord worked it out that we could get her were she needed to be today.

Day 77 of 2015

I am writing a little earlier today because I already have something to write about. So... The Lord saved my life today. Like, literally from what probably would have been physical death. I am going to admit to not being smart throughout this story but I wanted to tell it even though it does not paint a very intelligent picture of me. I decided to move a book shelf today by myself. Not that big of a deal. I have moved it many times by myself. I was moving it downstairs this time. I have never done that solo. So, that might be my first not-so-smart idea. I get to the stairs and I started getting it around the corner on to the landing to start going down the stairs. I am on the stairs with the book shelf towering over me. I am trying to figure out how to get it down and I come up with an idea...with me still being under the book case. I am about to go through with my not-so-smart decision #2 (which in my defense would have worked just fine if I had someone else there...I just didn't have anyone else there...) when I got the distinct image of what was GOING to happen, not what I wanted to happen, in my head. It would have ended with me at the bottom of the stairs being crushed by the book case ON TOP of a desk at the very bottom of the stairs. So I moved and was given a better idea and got it down the stairs with no stain and no one being hurt. I am so grateful the Lord points out when I am going to do something not-so-smart. I am grateful I listened. I know I would have been very injured, if not leaving this mortal existence, if I had not listened to the Spirit.

Today we celebrate my sister's 22nd birthday. She is special needs and a joy to be around. She loves people and people love her. She has a very special spirit about her. I am so grateful to the Lord for blessing my life with her influence and love. I have been truly blessed these past 8 years for knowing her. I look forward to an eternity getting to know her better.

I am very blessed to have a husband that I can have serious spiritual discussions with. We had one tonight after the kids went to bed. The Lord blessed our conversation with insights and with a closeness that I love when we talk. It reminds me how we are to be one flesh before the Lord. I am truly blessed to be married to not only my friend but my eternal companion.

Day 74 of 2015

Today we celebrated my bothers 36th birthday. My brother has special needs. He will always have the mental ability of about a 5-6 year old. He will never learn to read or write. He is slow of thinking and speech. He is an angel sent among us. He is one of God's gifts to our family. He has an unbreakable spirit (which can get him in trouble because he also has some habits that can't be broken. Like throwing things way that shouldn't be) and he has a smile that lights up any room. Everyone is his friend. I know that the Lord placed him in our family to save me. He is a showing of God's grace everyday. I am very grateful for him and all the joy he brings. I am looking forward to many more years of having him around.

Today I am so grateful for a daughter who is very helpful. Our oldest was a wonderful help today while we moved a lot of stuff. She watched the younger ones and even got them lunch and dinner. I am so grateful to a loving Father who blessed me with such a kind-hearted, intelligent little girl.

Today I was prompted to take my girls to the doctor and it is a good thing. 2 more cases of strep we didn't see coming. Didn't realize they were that sick. So very grateful for the Spirit to tell me these things.

It is amazing the similarities you can find in your life and those from the scriptures. I am so grateful that the Lord opens my eyes so that I can liken them unto me and make them real, make them mine. I am so grateful for everything I learn from the Spirit about who I can become and in seeing that, I can see potential in others.

Today I got lost investigating one thing after another in the Bible. It was a lot of fun and I am so grateful for the scriptures the Lord preserved for us to read and for the technology to investigate things so quickly. I am so very grateful for the word of God and for our ancestors before that wrote things down so that we might learn from them.

Day 69 of 2015

Today RJ and I were able to go for a walk together without all 4 children. It was so nice to have time to just enjoy walking without worrying about the other children and not having to listen to how much they DON'T want to walk. We do not get out much, just us two. It was very nice and I am so grateful to the Lord for granting me the time.

Today my dad got a clean bill of health from the surgeon. I am sooo happy for that. I know the Lord has been with him in his recovery. I am so grateful the Lord loves my family and blesses them. It is such a relief to know that they are in His care.

Today I was able to go with RJ to watch him teach in another branch for ward conferences. I am so grateful for every time I get to watch him and participate. I was able to add to his lesson today. I could feel the Spirit as I talked about a topic close to my heart. The Lord blessed me with the words to convey a message to the youth of that branch. It was a good lesson.

I am grateful for time spent with one of my children individually. The Lord let me know that this child needed some one on one and I am grateful for the oppurtunity to do so. We had a great time and I am looking forward to many more times with each of my children.

RJ had to go back to the doctor today to get his eyes rechecked to see if he had something wrong with them. I am so grateful that he doesn't. His eyes are fine and he passed all the tests. The Lord has blessed our family abundantly and I am so grateful He continues to.

How many times a day do we take our bodies for granted? I know I do all the time. I realize how good I HAD it when something goes wrong and I have to wait to get back to full mobility. Everyday of my life God's hand is there giving me health and strength. Others are asked to carry trials that limit their ability and mobility. I have been blessed to not have to worry about such trials. I have seen such trials bless the lives of others but I wonder if I am that strong. I am grateful the Lord has never tested me and I have had health in the navel and marrow in the bones all my life. I am grateful today for my body and for all I can do with it, such a great blessing.

Today I was prompted to do a kind act which lead to an unplanned day of activity. I know that this did me and all those involved some good though. I am grateful the Lord watches over all His children and every now and again I get to help.

Today I got a lot done in preparation for RJ and I moving around rooms in our house. I know that the Lord gave me the strength to do such things as I was exhausted. I am very grateful for all He helped me to get done.

I am grateful for the whisperings of the Spirit in talks with my children. No one knows them better than the Lord and I am grateful He lets me know what to say and ask that I can have a helpful conversation with my kids. I don't know what I would do without the Spirit as my guide.

Today the Lord kicked me out of bed with a text and got me to church when I really wanted to stay home. I am so grateful for the opportunity He gave me to serve and to feel of His Spirit.

Good friends are hard to come by. I believe that the Lord puts everyone in your life for a reason. Some to learn from, some to be a teacher to and some to make the journey more pleasant. RJ and I were able to have dinner tonight with a couple that is so great and we had a very pleasant evening. I am grateful the Lord put them in our lives and made our paths intertwin. We needed some good friends and the Lord supplied them.
