Day 31 of 2017

Today I was able to spend time with my son. I don't get to be just with him very often. I am grateful for the opportunity that I was given to go with him and finish one of his scout requirements. The Lord has blessed me with a good son who has a good heart. It takes some moments like today for me to slow down and realize just how blessed I am.

Day 30 of 2017

Today while I was helping my daughter teach our family home evening lesson I felt the Spirit testify to me very strongly how blessed I am to have this particular daughter in our house. She has a spiritual gift of love. She has a huge heart and a wonderfully friendly spirit. This lesson was perfect for her to teach. She shows me how to love and forgive and she is just the sweetest thing. I am so blessed to have her.

Today I had a wonderful day. I just felt the Lord's spirit comfort and make me happy all day. I am grateful for the Sabbath and for the time we get to take a break from the world. I know the Lord loves me.

Today we made our house a little better. We knocked out a wall and made our living room bigger. We got the wall down and everything cleaned up in one day. I am so grateful the Lord helped us to work quickly and effectively so that we got it done before the Sabbath.

Today I was able to get everything done I wanted to and kept my temper. Keeping my temper while accomplishing things is huge for me. I know the Lord knows how hard I am trying to connect with my kids. I think He knows how hard it is for me. I am grateful for the help I had today. I feel like I did the right thing.

Day 26 of 2017

Today I was able to get some inspiration about what to do with my temperament. Now if I can follow through with it I know the Lord will help us to have a better house hold. I know that I set the mood for the day because I am the first and main person my children deal with. I need to make sure I am in a good mood in the morning. This is not easy for me and never has been. I am going to get up earlier and do what I love first thing- run. I hope this will help me to be at a more patient level. We shall see if I can do it.

I am grateful that the Lord prompted me yesterday to get the stuff for a crock pot soup today. By the time it was dinner time I was out of energy. I put the soup in earlier and dinner was made. It was such a relief.

My son was able to turn in his service project that we did as a family. I felt the spirit tell me that it was going to make a lot of children happy and feel better when in a troubling situation. I am grateful that the Lord directed our family to this project. It made us all feel good.

Today all my children were well enough to be able to do their school work. This is wonderful. I am so grateful the Lord blessed us to have this virus move through the house so quickly and leave. I am looking forward to them getting caught up and this episode being behind us.

Today we had a wonderful family activity. Even though we have had to stay in the house because of sickness the Lord blessed us with a fun time. I had a prompting as to what to arrange and it worked wonderful. The Lord knew what we needed and supplied it.

Today I was able to leave my house and get out to breathe some fresh air. I have been in the house for a week with sick children. I am so grateful the Lord made it possible for me to leave the house for an hour. It was a much needed break. Now I feel refreshed. Then later I was able to run up and see my Mimi. I feel blessed.

I was able to sleep in my own bed for the first time this week. Being able to be back with my husband was very comforting. I felt lost without him sleeping next to me. I feel whole again. I am so grateful the Lord has been helping our family to recover so I can sleep back here again.

Day 19 of 2017

Today my two youngest made it through the worst of the flu virus that is going through our house. Since they are number 4 & 5 of the family we kind and know what to expect. After a temperature of around 103 then they start to slowly get better. I am always nervous when temperatures are that high. I kept giving them the medicine with a calm assurance from the Holy Ghost that they would make it through this just like the other 3 did. I am grateful the Lord has been with us and as lessened the symptoms of the illness for my children and they have been okay during this. I have known the Lord has been with us protecting us and it has been a wonderful feeling. It has helped me take care of 5 people for 5 days.

I am grateful to the Lord that He blessed me with a wonderful family to marry into. My father-in-law risked his own health to come over to our house to bring the kids a treat. He even stepped into the house, which takes a brave man, in my opinion. Whatever my kids have is very contagious as it has gone through the whole house. He wanted the kids to know he loved them so he came inside to say hi. That spoke volumes to my heart. He could have called or even Facetimed them but he chose to come himself. It was a blessing for the kids.

I am very grateful that I can stay home and take care of my family. I have more than half the house sick with the flu and I have been able to take care of them all day because the Lord has blessed us with the income so I can stay home. This is such a huge relief and I am very grateful for the blessing.

Today I was able to have my son talk to a policeman about a project he wants to do. I was going to have him do it tomorrow since everything was closed for the holiday but the Spirit prompted me to do it today and in the morning. I am so grateful I listened because he has now come down with the flu and won't be leaving the house for a few days. Only the Lord knew he was going to get sick and wouldn't be able to go tomorrow.

Today I was able to handle our primary class without RJ's help. I know I had patience given to me by the Spirit. The kids were abnormally active and I was able to keep my cool. I am so grateful the Lord helped me since I truly believe that these early years of learning how much Heavenly Father loves you are so important.

Today I was able to sleep in. I have had a busy few days and the Lord knew I needed my rest. I am so grateful my body let me sleep in and that my children let me sleep in, too. Now I just need to get a good rest tonight.

My nephew was able to have an exploratory surgery done. I am so grateful for medical science and what it can do for my nephew. The Lord has blessed our family so much with great medical care. Today was no different.

My mother-in-law was saved by God today and His angels. She was in an accident with a school bus and only sustained minor injuries (comparatively speaking). I am so grateful for the Lord's protection for all of my family. We were truly blessed by how small the incident turned out to be. It could have been so much worse. She could not be coming home at all and yet she will be coming home tomorrow. What a blessing!

Today my oldest aced her math test. She has been struggling with math all her years in school. To see the joy and excitement on her face when she saw she mastered it all on her own, the first time, honestly brought a tear to my eye. The Lord has been working with her and working with her, helping her brain to get it. This is a moment that I am so grateful for the Spirit and how it can communicate with children. What a great moment as a mom as well.

Today I was prompted to set an alarm for something I had to do. Then I went about my day and totally forgot about having to do this task. My alarm went off when I was in the middle of something so I know for a fact I would not have remembered. My alarm reminded me and I put things in place and dashed out the door. I am so grateful I was prompted by the Spirit to set my alarm so I wouldn't be late.

Today I didn't feel good but I knew that resting wouldn't help. The Lord gave me the nudge and motivation I needed to get up and get things done. I am grateful for that. I would have just been upset about being lazy if I hadn't.

We were able to see a lot of family today on both sides. I am grateful we have so many family members close that we can see them often. The Lord knew I would need my family close. It is a blessing I enjoy daily.

We were able to get new tires today. I am so grateful that we made it and that the Lord helped us to get our tires all done before the big storm. These new tires are a true blessing.

Today my father was able to go get us some new wheels for our car and he was able to get them for a better price than we had expected. I am so grateful for this man in my life. My dad has always been there for me and has always tried his best to help me. He has some health issues he is dealing with but even with that he still went out of his way to help my family. He is a true blessing in my life, a gift from the good Lord.

Day 5 of 2017

Today I was baking and I felt a prompting from the Spirit to check what I had put in the bowl. I realized a big mistake I had made and was prompted on how to fix it without throwing out the whole bowl of banana bread batter. Something small but my family loves banana bread and would have been very disappointed and I would have wasted a lot of ingredients. This is a testimony to me that the Lord knows me and loves me and my family and wants us to be happy as much as possible.

Day 4 of 2017

Today was another very productive day and my stamina kept up with 4 children (3 of which are home schooling and one is potty training. Pray for me!). I also took care of two house holds and exercised. The Lord blessed me with all the gumption I needed to make it through today. I know He will tomorrow as well!

I got a lot done to get back into the swing of things. I know the Lord helped me and my kids transition from winter break back to school. I am so grateful for the help. I can use all I can get!

Today we were able to go to a reunion for my mother-in-law's side of the family. It was a huge gathering with lots of love in the room. I am grateful for the love and acceptance that they show to me even though they only see me once a year. The Lord has blessed this family with a long line of faithful ancestors who love the Lord. What a great legacy from the Lord.

Happy New Year! I am so excited to step into 2017 and see what the Lord has in store for me and my family. Today we had a wonderful day at church and had an awesome lesson with our new little Sunbeam class. The Lord blessed our classroom with His spirit and we had a great time.

We had a very calm and lovely New Year's Eve. Being with family and playing games with my children was another reminder of how very blessed I am to have a great family. The Lord has blessed us with so much this year but I am most grateful for my family.
