Day 60 of 2016

Today I was thrown a curve ball with a phone call from someone I thought I would never have to talk with again. I heard the voicemail and was very surprised. Immediately after listening to the message I was filled with peace that everything would be alright and I need not worry about my family at all. Whatever happened with this individual would not effect me or my family right now. I was grateful for the assurance of safety from a Father who knows all.

Day 59 of 2016

Today the Lord blessed us with a wonderful day full of family and fun. He also blessed me with peace. My RJ has been having back pain and the Lord spoke peace to my heart and helped me to be calm and not worry.

We were able to do a lot as a family today and with extended family as well. We also were able to plant our garden peas and a few other things. It amazes me that the Lord wants us to grow our own food and trusts us to take care of things. That is proof of His love for us. Being able to come down here and live in family units where you have a built in support system also is proof of His love.

I had the inspiration to make some cute decorations and the materials were on sale so I could make them for me and some family members as well. I am so grateful that they were on sale just when I had the inspiration and some of the materials needed to make them. The Lord is in all the details of our lives, not just the church stuff.

Today I was able to get up and get about easily. I know I am healing so quickly because of the blessing I was given. I am so grateful for the Lord's watchful eye.

Today I recieved news about my mother's health that put my mind at peace. I didn't realize how stressed I was until I heard the news that she would be okay. I know she was very relieved too. I am grateful for the information the Lord blessed us with to put our minds at ease.

Today was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect. I am so grateful for the Lord blessing me with a sabbath that was relaxing and warm. It was a good day.

Today I was able to watch my oldest daughter do something that was so hard to do. She was hostess for a party of her friends. She did an excellent job and I have seen the Lord working with her and helping her get to this point. The pay off for all of my prayers that she would find some girls her age that she had things in common with was wonderful. By the Lord blessing her today with courage and strength, it blessed me as her mom watching it happen. The Lord answers prayers, even over a girls luncheon.

Day 50 of 2016

Today my oldest went on a play date with some friends. This may not be big to some but she suffers from social anxiety. I was so proud of her and happy that she went. It was a party that she was invited to and she stayed for the whole thing. I am grateful the Spirit helped comfort and strengthen her so she could accomplish this and prompted those in charge of the party to invite her.

Today I felt impressed to go outside and check our recycle can. We were having a big wind storm and I got the can right in time before all our papers and boxes were spread throughout the neighborhood. I am grateful the Lord prompted me to go check so that I wouldn't have a big mess to clean up or horrible guilt because someone else would be picking up my mess. It pays to listen.

Day 48 of 2016

This evening I tried to slow down and spend a few moments with my kids. I am a very active person. I usually need to be doing something. I don't sit still well. The Lord has been telling me for days I need to learn to slow down. Things will get done and no one will die or have to walk around naked or not have a clean dish. I have time to keep things tidy but I also need to learn to sit with them and enjoy them without trying to multitask something while doing it. Give them my full attention and all that. I have great kids and now is the time to strengthen our bond so they stay close to me when they are great teenagers and great adults. I am grateful for the Lord's gentle nudge.

I am grateful for all my children. They enrich and bless my life everyday. Not a day goes by that they don't make me laugh or feel happy inside. The Lord blessed me with 4 choice spirits and I am very happy about that.

Today we had a wonderful FHE (family home evening). The kids all listened and behaved. The lesson went well and I could feel the Spirit. It was wonderful. A tender mercy from the Lord to start the week.

Today I had to give a talk in sacrament meeting. The Lord blessed me with peace and comfort so I could get through it. I am not too fond of public speaking and it makes me really nervous. The Lord helped me get through it and I think I even did an okay job.

I have a husband who spoils me rotten. The Lord blessed me with such a loving man. I know he is a gift from the Lord to me. I know the Lord knew exactly who I needed AND wanted and He supplied me with a perfect match. We have had our ups and downs but the Lord has seen us through every mountain and valley. I know because of the constant care and mercy we receive from the Lord that we are doing at least something right. Our marriage is not perfect but it is perfect to us. The Lord did that.

I found a pretty blue vase on sale. I have always wanted a pretty blue vase to set out as a decoration. I have never told anyone that but it has always been a want of mine. I am a sucker for beautiful objects to display. When I saw this vase it spoke to me and I feel like it was a tender mercy from the Lord. I felt it was for me. I am so grateful for the wonderful find and for the Lord blessing me with such beautiful things to look at.

My husband is so good to me. So many days I feel the love and concern of my Savior through RJ. I just can't get over what an angel he is in my life. I have been so tired lately and he has been so sweet to do things and make sure I don't over work myself. I thank the Lord regularly for sending RJ to me and for talking him into taking a chance on me.

Some days I really think it is only because of the tender mercies of the Lord that the kids get all their lessons done. Today was no different. I am so grateful for a loving Father who has patience with His daughter while she tries to have patience with her kids. I am grateful for the help.

Today our tax return came. I am so grateful we are getting some of our money back and don't have to pay! This is a blessing and a tender mercy.

Today I was able to visit with my Mimi for a long time. It was so nice to get away from the world a bit and sit and natter with her. She is such a loving person. Her house is so welcoming and she never fusses over the kids getting into her things or anything like that. I am so grateful the Lord blessed me with her and the opportunity for a visit today.

Today I was able to calm 2 of the children in my class down, who have some challenges. I was grateful for the spirit guiding me to know what to do and say to help these two boys. They are sweet kids and I want them to like coming to class and I know the Lord wants them there.

Today I was able to accomplish a lot. I haven't felt this well in a week. I was so grateful for the energy and motivation. I was able to clean and go see my niece perform and have a long discussion with my husband. The Lord blessed me with strength and health.

Today I was able to do things and get them ready for the weekend. The flu is not leaving me as quickly as I like but at least I got out of the house and could get some sun. I know that I have been blessed with healing and a wonderful family to support me through this, especially my husband. The Lord has been good to me and I could not have asked for more (except to not get sick at all, lol).

Today I was guided to many things for a talk I will be giving. I am very grateful for the help. I have a fear of speaking and offending people but I am getting over that and placing more faith in the Lord helping me to prepare and say what He would have me say.

Today we got word that my brother DOES NOT have cancer. I am so grateful for this miracle and blessing given to our family. I know some are asked to go through the trail of sickness and I am in awe of their strength but the mortal in me is very happy to not have to watch my brother go through that at this time. Great news today.
