I had the oppurtunity to give blood today and it was a hard thing trying to find time with my full schedule. My mom was very sweet and watched 3 of my children. My boy wanted to come with me to make sure I was okay. It was very sweet of him to worry about me. The Lord has blessed me with a very kind son. He was very concerned and even shed a tear for me as they put the needle in and the blood started to go through the tube. I felt very loved. I am very grateful for the oppurtunity the Lord gave me to have that time with my son.

Day 211 of 2014

Today I have had a few spiritual experiences that have touched my heart. I gained insight while doing almost every daily task I had today. I had a great texting conversation with my husband that set right a fear that has been troubling me for a few weeks. Three out of the four of my children got blessings tonight for various reasons and great things were promised and revealed to them and to me as their parent. The Lord has really blessed me today with so much inspiration and an outpouring of love. I am very grateful.

Today I am grateful for cooling temperatures. I have been praying for some relief from our weather. Yesterday and today have been lovely. 10-20 degrees below the norm. I am so grateful for the rain and the cool the Lord has given us.

I was reminded tonight of how much fun children can have dancing in the rain. My children loved going out and getting all muddy and wet while RJ and I did some yard work. The temperature was perfect and the rain was just right. I am grateful the Lord has given us such simple pleasures.

Little nuggets of instant inspiration are really great. I was at church just thinking quietly to myself and pondering a 'why' in my head and I got an instant 'because.' It was a wonderful experience. I wasn't even looking for an answer. I am grateful the Lord answers us even when we don't realize we asked a question.

I am grateful for others and their willingness to help. It amazes me sometimes when an event is planned and the support that you get and the helping hands that show up and lighten your load. I know the Lord sends help in the form of friends and family. He did that for us today. Very happy for helping hands!

I am grateful for when the Lord knows my limits and helps my over active children fall asleep right when I put them to bed so I can have a break. I love that.

We were able to go on a picnic today up in the mountains. I love the mountains and I am so grateful the Lord created so many beautiful things to see, hear and smell out in nature. Being there with family made it so much more enjoyable. The Lord blessed me in many ways today through the beauty of the mountains and the time shared with family.

I am glad I listen to the promptings of the spirit and brought RJ a change of clothes to my mothers house. He was asked to give two blessings and I know he feels better when he feels he is respecting the Lord. I am grateful he respects the Lord and honors his priesthood so well.

I don't barbecue. I don't know really how to. I mean, I can turn on the grill and I can light it but to cook the meat and have it turn out edible is not something I normally do. Today I did. I cooked pork chops and they came out juicy and really good. I know this was not of my talent. I had to because no one else was there to cook it for me and the Lord blessed me to do it right. I am grateful.

Today we celebrated my father-in-law's birthday. This is a blessing from the Lord to me in two ways. First, without him being born who knows who I would have married and where I would be. His son completes my life. Second, he is a good guy that tries hard to do what he feels is best. This is a good example to me. So I have been blessed in knowing this man for my eternal companion and for his example. I have learned a lot from him and will continue to.

I am so grateful for the mobility I have. The Lord has blessed me with health and strength. Today we went for a walk as a family around the neighborhood and it was pleasant to walk. We walked a far distance and the kids kept up and we all got to be out in the cool night air. It was lovely. So I am grateful for a strong body and cool night walks.

"Until the end of your mortal lives," that is a saying that makes me sad at the end of weddings. Or "Until death do you part," does the same thing. I am so grateful to be reminded today of the sealing covenant that I may be with my husband and family forever. I don't have to worry about parting as long as I endure and stay true. The covenants of the temple are a wonderful thing.

"I love to see the temple. I'm going there someday. To feel the Holy Spirit. To listen and to pray. For the temple is a Holy place, a place of love and beauty." Today I got to go to the Logan temple with my eternal companion and best friend. This makes the 4th temple I have been to in Utah. The temple was beautiful and I had a wonderful time. I felt the Spirit and I was filled with love for my husband as I sat with him in that sacred place. I am grateful that I can visit my Father's House and feel of His love and peace. Today was awesome.

Today my husband and I get to go away for a night without anyone tagging along. It has been years since we got to sneak away just us two. I am so excited and can't wait to spend 24 uninterrupted hours with my eternal companion. I am so grateful that my mother is willing to take on all 4 of my children with no complaints. She is an angel. I am grateful that the Lord blessed me with such a patient mother with my 4 energetic children. I am grateful He blessed me with such a wonderful husband, who I love dearly. This is a great day to count my blessings!

When I get a good idea I know it comes from the Lord. I got an idea, followed the promoting and now am in the middle of a project I think will turn out very cute and make a good gift. I am grateful I don't have to rely on my own intelligence in this life and I get help a lot from my Father in Heaven.

Today a great blessing that I was reminded of is that we have a doctor that is of our religion who takes care of us. As I was thinking about it, how he seems more like family and I am so much more comfortable with him than any other doctors, I realized its because we share the same views and moral values. It makes a huge difference and makes talking about personal matters much less awkward. I had to take Rachel to see him today and it was so natural to talk to him about the blessing that RJ had given Rachel the night before and how it had helped and even mentioned our doctor in it. He was not shocked or confused or annoyed. It was natural for him too. I am so grateful the Lord prompted my parents over 20 years ago to take me to this man. He has been the best doctor ever since. The Lord was looking out for us then and I know He still does today.

Today I found a copy of my grandfather's birth certificate. My mother never met him and only spoke to him once on the phone. My grandmother left him when she was pregnant with my mother. We have been trying to find this document for years and today I happened upon it in my searching. It opened so much up so we can continue on in our research. I know I was lead by the spirit to find it. I am grateful the Lord takes an active hand in helping us with our ancestors.

My parents were able to fly home safely from Minnesota today. I am so grateful they made it home safe and the Lord protected them on their journey.

My niece was married today and I got to witness it by the marvels of technology. I FaceTimed my mom's cell and I got to see it while it was happening. Since I couldn't be there physically I am so grateful for technology that I could still 'be' there. I am grateful the Lord blessed so many with talented ideas that this could all come to pass.

Today is my daddy's birthday. He has been constant proof of God's Hand in my life. He has always been there to love and support me. He is a quiet man and does not say or show it often but I know he loves me because he has ALWAYS taken care of me and made sure I had what I needed. He has always been there to answer my questions about God and Heaven and the Gospel. He has been an example to me my whole life. I am so grateful the Lord let me be his daughter and I am so proud he is my dad. He is the best Papa my kids could want. He makes them things and teaches them things. He is always willing to help and give advice. I thank the Lord for him and I am grateful I still have him and I will for many years.

Today 7 years ago I married the perfect fit for me. He fills all my gaps and I couldn't imagine life without him and shudder to even try. We celebrated tonight with our Mimi. She had dinner with us and dessert and we just sat around the table talking for a couple hours. It was a very nice evening. The Lord blessed my day to remind me of the reason for eternal marriage and for family. My mom, who is away, sent me a picture of her and my niece and nephew which added to my day and also I was sent a picture of my other niece in her new outfit. My in-laws watched my children during dinner so we could enjoy each other's company without so much noise. Family is wonderful and I am so grateful for all of them. So, I got to have dinner with my husband and my Mimi, got little reminders throughout the day of other family that I love... The Lord loves me. He gave me great people in my life, most of all my eternal companion. He has given me forever with RJ, the greatest gift I could receive.

Today my keys were lost and I did not lose them. So trying to find them was even more difficult than normal. I stopped took some deep breaths and prayed. I then backed away from the situation for a bit and let the Lord guide my mind. It worked. I got a clear prompting, came right up the stairs and opened an unlikely place. There they were sitting in our hall closet on a shelf. I am so grateful the Lord listens to His children and answers their prayers.

Today my parents flew safely to Minnesota. My mom hates flying but she received a blessing and the flight went fine. I am grateful the Lord watched over my parents during their flight.

Today I had a good conversation with my brother and I told him that I loved him and his daughter and I always would. I just wanted him to know that from my mouth. A lot is being said about me when I am not there to defend myself and I just wanted him to know that me not caring for him was not true. I would not have had that conversation if the Lord had not prompted me to do so. He made it possible for my brother to be coming over to drop off his daughter and I felt the nudge to speak to him. I would not have if the Lord had not of insisted. I don't know that anything spectacular will come from it but it gave me a little peace to know I had said it.

I love avocados. I am grateful the Lord made them and that I have access to them. I ate one today and it was way yummy! I don't get them often because no one else in the house likes them so I don't think to buy them. My sweet husband reminded me while at the store yesterday and we got me two. I ate one today and enjoyed the entire thing. The Lord did a great job with vegetables on this earth!

I have been concerned about today and how I would handle it. Today is the 40th birthday of my brother who took his own life last September. I know the Lord was with me today. I had some very comforting thoughts come to mind this morning and they have stayed with me all day. I shared some of them with my family and I hope they also were comforted. I know my brother is still with us and he still loves us. I know that I will be reunited with him someday and it will be glorious. Joe would have been 40 today in earth years but his spirit is eternal and I am sealed to him. That is a great so comfort to me.

I live in a free country where I can worship how, where and what I may. That is is true blessing from the Lord. He has protected our country for the righteous sake and will continue to support us as long as there is God fearing, righteous people. God Bless America! Today I was able to run my 3 miles. I really was not motivated but the Lord helped me get on the treadmill because He knew how important it was for me. I almost backed out many times but I did it with His help. I am very grateful.

I was able to see my niece today. Not big to some people but there is a lot of friction and deception going on in my family right now and I honestly did not know if I would get to see my niece again while she was in my brother's care. She came and spent half the day with us. My brother was not overly friendly on the phone but was not rude so I will take that in stride. I am grateful the Lord softened someone's heart that I was able to see her today and that the idea was planted somewhere. It was nice to see her.

This may seem silly to some of you but I got an email today I have been waiting for. I have waited over two weeks for this email. Familysearch.org has partnered with three other ancestry sites for family history work. You have to be invited by email to join these other sites for free, otherwise you pay big money a year to be a member of these sites. As long as you have are a member of Familysearch.org you can join these for free. I am so grateful for this. I love family history work, the detective part of me goes wild. It is so fun to put the puzzle pieces together and to know where you come from. I digress... So I sent in my request and got my confirmation email today so that I could sign up and I am now a proud member of 4 genealogy sites. I am so grateful the Lord has brought this to pass that we may try to be linked to all our family. Family is very important.
